When hiring a foreigner with No. 1 specific skills, it is obligatory for the receiving organization (host company) to provide living support (10 items of mandatory support) in Japan.
However, in reality, it is difficult to meet various conditions and procedures take time, etc., so it is possible to entrust all or part of the obligatory support to a "registered support organization" that has received permission.
*Registration support costs cannot be borne by foreigners themselves.
No. 1 Specified Skilled Foreigner Compulsory Support 10 items
① Advance guidance (3 hours)
After concluding the employment contract, before applying, explain the working conditions, work content, immigration procedures, confirmation of whether or not the security deposit is collected, etc. in a language that the foreigner can understand face-to-face or by videophone.
② Transportation in and out of Japan
At the time of entry: Transportation from the airport to business place or residence
Upon return: Airport transfer
③ Contract support necessary for securing housing and living
Guidance on opening a bank account, contracting for mobile phones and lifelines, etc., and assisting with various procedures
④ Life Orientation (8 hours)
Explanation of Japanese rules and manners, how to use public transportation, contact information, response in the event of a disaster, etc.
⑤ Accompaniment to official procedures, etc.
Assisting with procedures such as residence, social insurance, tax, etc. as necessary, and preparing documents
⑥ Providing Japanese learning opportunities
Provision of information on admission to Japanese classrooms, etc., and Japanese learning materials, etc.
⑦ Response to consultations and complaints
Responding to consultations and complaints about work and daily life in a language that foreigners can fully understand, and providing necessary advice and guidance according to the content
⑧ Promotion of interaction with Japan people
Places for interaction with local residents such as residents' associations, guidance on local festivals and other events, and assistance in participation
⑨ Career change support (in case of personnel reduction, etc.)
Assistance in finding a new job in the event of termination of an employment contract due to the circumstances of the host organization, preparation of letters of recommendation, granting of paid leave for job search activities, provision of information on administrative procedures, etc.
⑩ Regular interviews and reporting to government agencies
Conduct regular interviews with foreigners and their superiors (at least once every three months), and report any violations of the Labor Standards Act.
